I - INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM
 

Health and Safety Education

The district shall provide experiences for students to acquire knowledge of health information that encourages the formation of good health habits and a sound philosophy of community health, both physical and mental.

Education concepts and materials will be presented to elementary students by a qualified teacher, R.N., or M.D. Parents will be made aware of opportunities to participate in educational programs. Advance notification will be given and written permission will be obtained from the parent or guardian. Presentations may be during regular school time.

The district shall maintain a K through 12 public education program based on physical development, health and safety and development of skills for use in leisure time. They shall also provide experiences to develop an awareness of the factors that contribute to an environment that is safe for work, recreation, daily living and other public and private related activities which will contribute to the practice of safe community living.
