GDBE SUPPORT STAFF VACATIONS AND HOLIDAYS
G - PERSONNEL
The School Calendar as developed under Board Policy ICA – Guidelines for Establishing U.C.S.D. #1 School Calendar and as adopted by the Board of Trustees shall set forth the Student Days, Inservice Days, Teacher Contract Days, Vacation Days and Legal Holidays for Teaching Staff, Support Personnel and Administrative Personnel in the district.
Annual Leave
District Administrators and other District employees as designated by the Board of Trustees shall be granted paid annual leave in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Board.
Annual leave is earned by all regular, non-administrative, employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 240 days per year and who have permanent positions with the District. Leave is earned at a rate of .833 day/month for those who have worked within the District for less than eleven consecutive years.
Regular employees who are scheduled to work at least 240 days a year, who have permanent positions with the District and have been employed for over ten (10) consecutive years shall earn annual leave at a rate of 1.25 days/month.
Unless specific authorization is granted by the superintendent, all annual leave shall be taken within three (3) months after the beginning of the fiscal year (July 1) and is not accruable from year to year. Vacation may be taken throughout the year upon proper approval of the immediate supervisor and the Superintendent.
Vacation Days
Vacation Days as identified on the School Calendar shall be designated as scheduled workdays for all twelve-month employees. Designated Vacation Days shall not be scheduled as workdays for those employees that are scheduled to work a fixed number of days workday schedule unless the Vacation Days are specified as workdays when establishing the employee’s schedule. In all instances designated Vacation Days are non-paid days unless the employee works.
Holidays
The following Holidays shall be paid Holidays for all full time District employees and those employees that are not scheduled to work a fixed number of days workday schedule.
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following
Christmas Day and one additional day at Christmas
Generally, when a holiday falls on a Saturday, Friday will be the official day observed and when a holiday falls on a Sunday, Monday will be the official day observed.
