GCKA PROFESSIONAL STAFF EXTRA DUTY
G - PERSONNEL
Teachers are expected to assume responsible duties over and above their regular teaching responsibilities. Principals shall have the authority to assign teachers special duties such as hall or playground supervision, the selling or taking of tickets, assembly supervision, committee work, etc. Activities and services of this type are critical to the overall operation of the school and require limited demands on a teacher’s time and shall be a part of each teacher’s basic assignment. Principals will strive to equalize such duties among staff members as much as possible.
Extra responsibilities that make major demands on a teacher’s time or represent a significant added responsibility may be rewarded with extra compensation. Extra duties subject to this compensation will be submitted to the Superintendent for prior approval. Those extra duties that qualify for extra duty pay will be compensated at the extra duty rate approved by the Board.
