GDA SUPPORT STAFF POSITIONS
G - PERSONNEL
NOTE: Support staff (non-certificated staff) positions include all those positions for which certification is not required by the State. The terms "support staff" and non-certificated staff’ are used interchangeably in this manual.
The Board recognizes and functions on the belief that its support staff members who serve as administrative/supervisory personnel in support staff categories, and its secretaries, teacher aides, custodians, food services personnel, maintenance personnel and bus route drivers are important and necessary to the total educational process of the school district.
All support staff positions in the district are established initially by the Board. In each case, the Board will approve a statement of job requirements as presented by the superintendent.
Although positions may remain temporarily unfilled, or the number of persons holding the same type of position reduced, only the Board may abolish a position that it has created.
