Uinta County School District Number One has agreed to participate in the National School Lunch Program and accepts responsibility for providing Free and reduced Price Meals to eligible children in the schools under its jurisdiction.

The Board of Education recognized the fundamental need for all children to have a nutritious lunch. In meeting this goal, the District will provide a free or reduced price meal for all economically disadvantaged children.

The criteria and procedures for determining a student’s need and steps in securing for students free or reduced priced meals, will be outlined and made known by the Verifying Official. The criteria and procedures are established at the state/federal level.

The students who participate in free or reduced priced meals will not be distinguished in any way from students who pay the regular price. Their names will not be known to any person except such staff member or members as needed to make the special arrangements for them.

NOTE: Districts participating in the state/federal school lunch and other funded food programs must annually submit papers which set forth regulations, hearing procedures, food ticket distribution methods, eligibility standards, news releases and forms pertaining to the program. A complete set of forms and related materials pertaining to the state/federal Free and Reduced Price meals program are on file in the Superintendent’s Office.
