A student accident insurance program providing broad coverage at nominal cost to parents is made available to all students on a voluntary basis.

It is mandatory that any student in the school system who is an active participant in a varsity, junior varsity or other middle/high school athletic program or who is a cheerleader, shall have either an individual accident policy or an accident policy sponsored by the school district. Students who participate in such programs shall be required to show proof of accident coverage before they are permitted to take part in any game or practice.
