CBG EVALUATION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT

Adoption Date: 8/9/1977, Revised: 10/11/1988; 11/13/2012
C - GENERAL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION

In order to achieve an effective working relationship between the Board and the Superintendent and to enhance effective leadership at all levels of the District, the Board must continually provide the Superintendent with formal and informal feedback on his personal effectiveness and the overall operation of the school district. Therefore, the Board shall work with the Superintendent to establish goals and objectives for the District and to identify performance criteria that would indicate accomplishment of these goals and objectives.

Leadership or policy governance is the model designed by the Board of Trustees of Uinta County School District Number One that provides a clear set of expectations for school district performance and provides clear differentiation between governance and management responsibilities in the district.

Annually, the Board will formally evaluate the Superintendent using the Leadership Governance Assessment tool developed to assess the effectiveness and overall operation of the school district.

Based upon the Leadership Governance Assessment tool, the Board shall take action to rehire or terminate the contract of the Superintendent for the subsequent year at any duly called meeting of the Board of Trustees.
