BDDA NOTIFICATION OF BOARD MEETINGS

Adoption Date: 6/10/1980
B - SCHOOL BOARD GOVERNANCE AND OPERATIONS

All regular and special meetings of the Board shall be announced publicly.

Regular Meetings

State law requires that a notice of regular Board meetings (and availability of minutes of these meetings) shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the school district, at least two times each year, once within a week after the start of the first semester and once as a part of the statement of revenue and expenditures of the district. If the Board changes the time and place of its regular meetings, notice shall be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the school district before the change shall become effective.

Special Meetings

The clerk of the Board shall cause notice of each special meeting to be conspicuously posted in three public places within the school district, at lest three days before the special meeting; or shall cause notice of the special meeting to be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the district at least three days before the meeting. Such notice shall be unnecessary if each trustee gives written waiver thereof either before or after the special meeting.

The notice must contain the purpose, time and place of the meeting and a statement that the official minutes of the meeting will be available for inspection by any citizen at the district's offices.
