BCD BOARD-SUPERINTENDENT RELATIONSHIP

B - SCHOOL BOARD GOVERNANCE AND OPERATIONS
 

The administration of the school district shall be carried out through close coordination between the Board and the superintendent in accordance with the governance policies set forth in Leadership Governance Policies and Board Expectations. Board members shall be careful not to infringe upon the responsibilities of the superintendent and he/she in turn shall look to the Board for determination of general policy concerning the school.

The superintendent, or his/her designee, attends all meetings of the Board, including executive sessions, except that portion of a meeting when his/her own appointment or salary is under consideration.

The Board shall employ legal and clerical aid as circumstances demand. Such clerical help shall come under the direction of the superintendent.
