BBB SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS

B - SCHOOL BOARD GOVERNANCE AND OPERATIONS
 

A general election of members of the Board of Trustees shall be held on the Tuesday next following the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year. Board members shall be elected on a nonpartisan ballot in accordance with the provisions of the Wyoming Election Code and the Wyoming Education Code.

The Board of Trustees of Uinta County School District Number One consists of nine (9) members. Trustees must reside within the School District boundaries and are elected by a vote of the qualified voters of the entire district.

In accordance with Wyoming Statute 21-3-111(b)(i), (c) all Trustees shall be elected for a four-year (4) term, to begin at 12:00 noon on the first day in December following the November election.

It shall be the responsibility of the County Clerk to arrange for the elections to be held as provided for by the laws of Wyoming.

Note: A map detailing the boundaries of the district is on file in the Educational Service Center. As provided by the law, the boundaries for trustee residence areas may be changed only: (a) after a public hearing on the change has been held; (b) the change is approved by a majority vote of the Board membership; and (c) the change is approved by a two-thirds majority vote of the qualified electors actually voting on the change proposal.

Members to be elected at large within the school district boundaries as per board action taken at the regular meeting of December 16, 1997 (Resolution 8.c) in accordance with Wyo. Statute, Section 21-3-111(b)(i) (1997).
