KK VISITORS TO THE SCHOOLS

Adoption Date: 5/10/1977
K - SCHOOL-COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Parents and other residents of the community are encouraged to visit the schools. The Board believes that there is no better way for the public to learn what the schools are actually doing.

When they visit classrooms, visitors must realize that the teacher’s first responsibility is to the children and that the teacher cannot spend time conversing with visitors. If a conference is desired, arrangements will be made by the teacher for an appointment with the parent either before or after school hours.

All visitors to schools must report to the school office upon arrival.

School personnel shall not have their children present at school during class time, unless their children are enrolled as bona fide class members. Emergency exceptions may be made with the approval of the principal.
