DBF/DBG DISSEMINATION OF BUDGET RECOMMENDATIONS/BUDGET HEARING AND REVIEWS
D - FISCAL MANAGEMENT
As required, on or before the third Wednesday of July and at a place determined by the Board, a budget hearing shall be held in the district. At this time, Board members will explain the proposed budget and invite questions and discussion relative to the items of the budget.
The announcement and conduct of the hearing shall conform with the legal requirements that a notice announcing the hearing be published once in a daily or weekly newspaper with a general circulation in the district. The notice must appear in the first regular issue published on or after the 7th of July, or at least one week before the hearing. A budget summary shall be published at the same time.
The Board shall provide accommodation for all interested persons, shall adequately present and explain the annual budget and shall receive questions and responses from citizens attending the hearing.
